Titration Regimen for Adults
Initiation (start dose)
- Initiation for adult therapy is 600 mg/day given twice daily. [1]
Dose escalation schedule
- For adult monotherapy initiation in patients not currently receiving antiepileptic drugs, the dose is increased by 300 mg/day every third day to 1200 mg/day. [1]
- For conversion to monotherapy in adults receiving concomitant antiepileptic drugs, the dose is increased by a maximum of 600 mg/day at approximately weekly intervals to reach 2400 mg/day. [1]
- For adult adjunctive therapy, the dose may be increased by a maximum of 600 mg/day at approximately weekly intervals if clinically indicated. [1]
